BPeek privacy policy

Effective 17/10/2026

In short: your heart-rate readings never leave your phone. BPeek has no account and no server of its own. The app shows ads and, if you allow it, sends anonymous usage and crash reports through Google services. None of that ever includes your readings.

Your readings stay on your phone

Your measurements (heart rate, minimum, median and maximum, date and time), the tags and notes you add, and any measurement recordings are stored only on your phone. They are never sent to us, to Google, to the ads service or to anyone else. Deleting a measurement, or using Settings › Delete all readings, removes it from your phone. Uninstalling the app removes everything.

Export creates a CSV file only when you ask for it, saved where you choose. What you do with that file is up to you.

Camera and flash

BPeek uses the rear camera and flash only while a measurement is running, to see the small colour changes in your fingertip with each heartbeat. Images are processed on the phone as they arrive and are never stored or sent anywhere. The camera turns off as soon as the measurement ends or you leave the screen.

Ads

BPeek shows a small ad in the History list, served by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). Ads are non-personalised and limited to content suitable for general audiences. The app does not access your device's advertising ID. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google may collect device information such as an app-scoped identifier, your IP address (from which an approximate location can be derived) and ad interactions. Google's own policy applies to that data: how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

In the EEA, the UK and other regions where it's required, BPeek asks for your consent through Google's consent form before ads are requested. You can change your choice any time in Settings › Privacy choices.

Usage and crash reports

If Settings › Share usage and crash reports is on, BPeek sends anonymous app usage events (for example that a measurement finished or failed, or that a screen was opened) through Google Analytics for Firebase, and crash reports through Firebase Crashlytics. These include an app-scoped installation identifier, device model and Android version. They never include your heart rate, tags, notes or recordings. Usage data is kept for two months. Turn the switch off at any time to stop sending; in regions where consent is required, the reports are only sent if your consent choices allow it.

Notifications

The optional daily reminder is scheduled on your phone. It sends nothing anywhere.

Children

BPeek is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

Not a medical device

BPeek estimates your heart rate. It isn't a medical device and isn't meant to diagnose or treat any condition.
